What is #Farm24 and how can I show support for British farmers?
Today you will probably see #Farm24 trending all over your social media. This Is because today is one of the biggest online agricultural events, reaching over 112 million people.
The event is sponsored by Morrisons and has been run by the Farmers Guardian since 2015. It comprises of British Farmers taking to social media to post a day in the life of their farming activities. This can be done through photos, videos and text to show the effort and care put in to produce the food that ends up on our plate. Farm 24 takes place from 5am 5th August to 5am 6th August and aims to give the general public an insight into the commitment of a farmer and encourages them to support local farmers.
Senior agricultural manager for Morrisons, Sophie Throup, says: “We know our customers really care about British farming and the people who help put food on their table. The 24 Hours in Farming initiative gives British farmers and food-makers a platform to share their stories, but also to get the world excited about how we do things at Morrisons. It is an event we look forward to every year.”
You can support British farmers by buying local, sharing how your local community is benefiting from farming and post about why you support farmers with the hashtag Farm24.
At Tomson Consulting we are proud to support British farmers and #Farm24. To show our support today we will be sharing posts and this blog, using the hashtags #BackBritishFarming #FarmingCAN and #Farm24 and continue providing unique advice that can re-establish biodiversity and improve efficiency on British farms.
